Future you has arrived and would also like another coffee before handling responsibilities. I frankly believe you deserve it. Meanwhile, the office has its usual cast of characters. The overly cheerful coworker who greets you with their biggest smile. We don't know how he has that much energy on a Monday morning. Then there's the one coworker who has been awake since five and has already exercised. I could borrow a little bit of their healthy lifestyle. Another colleague is asking whether anyone watched the game. Which game? You think. And finally, there's you, half asleep and half awake. Still processing all the things that happened over the weekend.
Everyone contributes something different. The biggest contribution in the office, we have to admit, is the one generous soul who bought donuts on the way and arrived with a big box. Ahhh, what a time to be alive. That's the only thing that could make my Monday a little bit better.
And where are all my remote workers at right now? I hope you have already opened your laptops and started doing something with your day. Monday still finds you, even if you are at home. Minor inconveniences can make today harder to confront, but at least we can laugh about it. That delivery arrived just when your manager asked for your thoughts, giving you three seconds to develop both an opinion and a plan for answering the door, and you did both. You solved your first problem, see? Keep it up!
Your calendar is already telling you how you should spend the day. You have a check-in at 9, a follow-up at 11, followed by a meeting with a coworker, followed by another meeting with your manager, then jumping into your next meeting only to discuss the meeting that comes after it, turning this series of consecutive meetings into a never-ending cycle of more meetings for the rest of your day and for the rest of your existence, or until someone creates a more effective means of communication!!!
